    How We Work

    OUR ELECTRICAL PROCESS

A clear, six-step process from first phone call to final compliance certificate — designed so there are no surprises, no confusion, and no unexpected charges.

This page is maintained by Assemble Electrical to answer common questions about our business, standards and workmanship.

Every Assemble Electrical job follows the same six-step process, whether it's a single powerpoint replacement or a full commercial fit-out with Level 2 mains upgrade. Knowing what to expect at each stage lets you plan around us and hold us to it.

    STEP 1 — INITIAL CONTACT

You reach us by phone on 0404 403 563, by the quote form on this website, or by email to tristan@assembleelectrical.com.au. For emergencies, always call — phones ring through after hours. For non-urgent work, the form is fine and we respond same-business-day.

    STEP 2 — SCOPING & SITE VISIT

For simple jobs (replace a powerpoint, add a fan, swap a light) a clear photo and description is usually enough to give you an indicative price. For larger jobs — switchboard upgrades, rewires, new builds, commercial fit-outs — we book a site visit at a time that suits you and walk through the scope together. Site visits within our Clarence Valley service area are free.

    STEP 3 — WRITTEN QUOTE

You receive a written quote by email that lists the scope, the materials, the price and any assumptions we've made. For anything with genuine unknowns (fault-finding, older buildings) we quote a capped rate with clear inclusions rather than a guessed-at fixed price. You approve in writing before we book the job.

    STEP 4 — SCHEDULING

We agree a start date. For urgent safety work we prioritise same-day where possible. For booked work we typically start within 1–2 weeks, and we tell you if it'll be longer. If we're running late on the day we call — we don't leave you sitting around.

    STEP 5 — THE WORK

We arrive on time in a marked vehicle, protect your floors and furniture with drop sheets and dust protection where needed, and keep power off only when we have to. Anything unexpected we uncover during the job — old cabling, undersized mains — is flagged before we act on it, so you stay in control of the scope and price.

    STEP 6 — CERTIFICATE & INVOICE

Every completed job in NSW is required to be accompanied by a Certificate of Compliant Electrical Work (CCEW) issued to the customer and lodged with Fair Trading. We provide yours by email at completion along with the paid or issued invoice. If Level 2 work was involved, the Essential Energy notifications are also handled by us.

If anything isn't right after we leave, one call and we come back. Aftercare is one of the reasons we're locally based rather than driving in from Ballina or the Gold Coast for each job.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED

How long from first call to work starting?

For urgent safety issues, same-day. For standard booked work, typically 1–2 weeks. For larger projects with material lead times, we tell you upfront.

Do you offer quotes by photo?

For small jobs, yes. For anything involving switchboards, mains, or older buildings we prefer a site visit — it saves surprises for both sides.

Can I be onsite while you work?

Absolutely — most residential customers are. We work around your day and only need power off during specific parts of the job.

What if you find something unexpected mid-job?

We stop, tell you what we found, quote the additional work, and only proceed with your agreement.

Do you clean up after the job?

Yes. We remove all rubbish, sweep up, and leave the space cleaner than we found it.
