Most electrical faults are invisible until they cause a fire, a shock, or an insurance claim. A proper inspection lifts the covers on your switchboard, tests every RCD, and confirms your smoke alarms, earthing and safety switches will actually do their job when they need to.

Assemble Electrical performs safety inspections for homeowners, buyers, landlords and property managers across Yamba, Maclean, Iluka and the wider Clarence Valley. You get a written report, a clear risk rating, and honest advice on what actually needs fixing versus what can wait.

    WHY SAFETY INSPECTIONS MATTER

    Pre-purchase inspections

Buying a home in Yamba, Maclean or elsewhere in the Clarence Valley? Building inspections rarely cover electrical in any depth. A dedicated electrical inspection tells you what you're actually buying — an intact modern installation, or a switchboard upgrade and rewire hidden behind the plaster.

    Rental properties

Landlords and property managers have a duty of care to tenants. Regular electrical inspections and smoke alarm servicing protect tenants and satisfy insurance and NSW residential tenancy requirements. We can run inspections on a scheduled cycle for portfolios.

    Insurance and claims

After a storm, near-miss or claim, insurers may ask for evidence the installation is safe. Our written report and Certificate of Compliance (where remedial work is done) provides that evidence.

    Older homes

Homes built before the mid-1990s often lack RCD protection on power circuits, and many built before the 2000s lack RCD protection on lighting. If you're in an older Yamba or Maclean home, an inspection tells you where the real risks sit — and gives you a plan to bring the home up to modern standard in stages.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long does an inspection take?

A typical 3-bedroom home takes 1.5 to 2.5 hours on site, plus report writing.

Do I need to be home during the inspection?

Preferably yes, but we can also work with a property manager or real estate agent to gain access.

Will you fix problems on the day?

Small issues (a loose termination, a swapped-out RCD) can be fixed on the day with your approval. Larger issues are quoted separately.

Is an inspection required by law?

For owner-occupied homes, no — but insurance policies increasingly assume the installation is compliant. For rentals, smoke alarm servicing is required and full inspections are strongly recommended.
