DATA CABLING
ACMA-registered structured cabling for homes and businesses across Yamba, Maclean, Iluka and the entire Clarence Valley. Cat6, Cat6A, fibre and Wi-Fi coverage upgrades.
Wi-Fi is fine for phones and streaming — but hardwired data is still the right answer for anything that matters: work-from-home setups, IP CCTV, access points, VoIP handsets, gaming consoles, TVs and business networks.
Assemble Electrical provides ACMA-registered structured cabling work across the Clarence Valley — Cat6 for standard installs, Cat6A where 10 Gbps or long PoE runs matter, and fibre where distance or interference rules out copper.

A COMPLETE GUIDE TO DATA CABLING
Cat6 vs Cat6A
Cat6 supports 1 Gbps at any practical run length and 10 Gbps up to about 55 m. Cat6A guarantees 10 Gbps to the full 100 m and handles higher-power PoE more reliably. For most homes Cat6 is enough; for business networks and long PoE runs we recommend Cat6A.
When to use fibre
Fibre is required for runs over 100 m, links between buildings on the same property, and installations where electrical interference is an issue. Fibre also completely eliminates any risk of earth-loop damage between separately powered buildings.
Wi-Fi access points
A single router in the corner of the house is the number one cause of "the Wi-Fi is terrible" complaints. PoE-powered ceiling access points, cabled back to a central switch, give consistent whole-home coverage — even more important in double-brick homes or over multiple levels.
ACMA compliance
All fixed cabling that connects to a network termination device (NBN, telco line) must be installed by an ACMA-registered cabler. We are registered and lodge compliance where required.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can you extend my NBN to another room?
Yes — we can relocate or extend the NBN connection to a more useful location, and add data points off the same run.
Do I really need cabled access points?
For consistent whole-home Wi-Fi in anything larger than a small unit, yes. Mesh Wi-Fi can help but cabled PoE access points are the reliable solution.
Can you run cabling to my shed?
Yes — usually with fibre if it's a detached building, to avoid earth-loop and lightning risk.
