Any appliance that connects to your home's fixed wiring — an oven, a cooktop, a rangehood, a hot water system, a hard-wired dishwasher, a pool pump — has to be installed by a licensed electrician in NSW. Not a handyman, not the delivery driver, not the retailer's "installer" who's actually just delivering.

WHY APPLIANCE INSTALLATION MATTERS
Circuit rating vs appliance rating
A modern induction cooktop can draw 32A or more. The circuit it lands on has to be sized and protected for that load. Older Yamba kitchens sometimes have a 20A cooktop circuit that simply won't safely run a new induction unit — the fix is a dedicated circuit, not "she'll be right".
Warranty and compliance
Almost every appliance warranty says the appliance must be installed by a licensed electrician. Without a Certificate of Compliance, the manufacturer can (and does) refuse warranty claims. Every appliance we connect leaves with the paperwork.
Hot water — the details matter
Hot water systems are simple in principle and unforgiving in practice. Undersized cabling, missing off-peak controls, and dodgy earthing all show up as failed elements and higher power bills. We install with proper isolators, correct off-peak controls, and terminal covers you can safely lift for service.
Coastal pool and spa gear
Pool and spa equipment sits in the worst possible environment — wet, salty, always outdoors. We use IP-rated outdoor enclosures, correct RCD protection for pool zones, and marine-rated hardware for coastal Yamba installations.

Can the retailer's installer connect my oven?
Only if they're a licensed electrician working for a licensed electrical contractor. In NSW, hard-wired appliance connections legally require an electrical licence and a Certificate of Compliance.
Do I need to upgrade my circuit for a new induction cooktop?
Often yes. Modern induction cooktops draw significantly more than older ceramic units. We check the existing circuit rating and quote any upgrade before we start.
Can you take away the old appliance?
Yes — we can disconnect and remove the old appliance for responsible disposal or recycling.
How long does an oven or cooktop install take?
Straightforward like-for-like swaps are usually 30–60 minutes. New circuit installs take longer and are quoted separately.
